The Banner Saga 2 is a gripping Norse-inspired fantasy adventure that engages you with its exceptional narrative and captivating art direction. The game features a turn-based combat system that challenges your strategic thinking, new creatures and obstacles, and battles resolved through primary objectives rather than max-murdering the other side. Make difficult decisions that can lead to starvation, mutiny or death, while defying traditional conventions and rejecting typical rules of morality. The sequel is a must-play, with vastly improved combat, deep and rewarding narrative, and an immersive visual and sound design.
What we like:
Engaging narrative
Captivating art direction
Improved combat system
New creatures and obstacles
Battles resolved through primary objectives
What could be improved:
Difficult for new players who did not play the first game
Console controls are awkward and obtuse
Environmental art can make combat harder to navigate

Mercenaries Blaze: Dawn of the Twin Dragons (2020)
“Mercenaries Blaze”is the 5th fantasy tactical simulation RPG. Turn-based battles are carried out on an isometric map. Attack and defense results vary depending on the direction you face, distance and elevation, making gameplay challenging enough to satisfy the even pickiest strategy lovers.
Two sequels were released for PlayStation Portable, Sony's handheld gaming console: Valkyria Chronicles II in 2010, and Valkyria Chronicles III in 2011.
Valkyria Chronicles is a tactical role-playing game in which the player uses a unique turn-based battle system called BLiTZ (Battle of Live Tactical Zones).
During their turn the player views an overhead map in Command Mode, but zooms in to control each individual unit on the battlefield in Action Mode.
Taking command of individual units during the player's phase costs Command Points, which can be used dynamically to grant movement to many different units or the same unit consecutively with diminishing AP reserve, depending on what the player wants to accomplish.
